Gorgeous and Green Deliveries!

I have been doing a lot of gorgeous deliveries for Gorgeous and Green, my new sustainable floral boutique in Berkeley, CA.  It's been hard to remember to take pics, but on occasion I do, and so I have some pics to show you here from past deliveries. Most of my delivery clients are word of mouth, as of now I don't have an online shopping platform, but I hope to get something set up soon. Here is a pic of an arrangement I did for a local Oakland customer: And here's one I did for a Mother's Day arrangement.  The customer wanted as many organic flowers as possible so I included some organic snapdragons, greens and roses I grew!  It was also peony season (a short lived 4 weeks somewhere between April and May) so we had some lovely local bubblegum peonies too.  It was all packaged in a recycled glass vase I carry here in the store. Another arrangement, but this one is actually a living terrarium made with succulents.   I made it by request for a mom who wanted to give something living to her daughter on her birthday.  I love the way the gnarled wood looks in the glass. As always, trying to stay gorgeous and green with reused materials, biodegradable materials and local and organic flowers and plants.  This cylinder was actually left reused from a past event and the wrapping I used was recycled paper and cotton ribbon.  You gotta love biodegradable ribbon!  That plastic/polyester stuff is  bad news. A chocolate and peach fall wedding

I love the fall months when chocolate cosmos are locally available in the Bay Area.  Although they are not really "brown", they are as close as you can get,  so it's a real treat when the color scheme includes brown.  Check out these great pics from a wedding I did last month where I got to include these dainty flowers as well as some locally grown peach roses and white callas.  I used biodegradable cotton sateen ribbons and no floral foam of course! The bride and groom were so pleasant to work with, and really excited about their big day!

The Bridal party peach and brown

Here the bride and bridesmaids are looking so cheerful.  I love those long brown bridesmaid dresses.

chocolate brown cosmos and peach bouquet

I couldn't decide which peach was better, the more orang-y peach or pink-y peach, so I added a little of both as well as some really light peach-ish white roses.

peach brown cake

Here's the cake, that had cream frosting that went perfectly well with my peachish white roses.  There's the extra boutonniere and throw bouquet I made for the bride and groom... boutonnieres rarely make it through a full wedding and reception full of congratulatory hugs.

The bride and groom were married at a quaint vineyard in Livermore: Deer Ridge Vineyards.  The Photography was done by www.schoenfeldt.com

A green and formal affair

Going Green at the University Club, San Francisco

First of all, I want to thank the bride: Kelly, for her openness to green and sustainable options and flexibility in finding options that would work for her wedding and color scheme. Second, I'd just like to say, orange, brown and white are a beautiful color combination, and even more so in local, organic and recycled tones!  Check out the orange recycled glass vases I used and biodegradable ribbons... all part of the magic! Here are a few teaser pics from the Photographer Lucie XYZ Photography, thanks for such wonderful shots!  She highlights a few more moments from the Gorgeous and Green event last saturday on her blog.
